Virtually Golf is proud to announce that it has been shortlisted in the final three for Facility of the Year at the 2026 England Golf Awards, a national recognition celebrating venues that are helping grow and reimagine the game.

From the outset, Virtually Golf has been driven by a clear mission: to remove barriers and make golf accessible for everyone in a safe, relaxed and welcoming environment. Built as a vibrant, colourful space, the venue is purpose-designed to remove intimidation for newcomers while delivering a premium golf and social experience.

A key part of this ethos is family inclusion. Every Virtually Golf membership includes free access for the member’s family, encouraging shared time together and introducing new people to the sport in a fun, pressure-free way. Inside the venue, families and beginners enjoy open days, junior clubs, carnival-style games, VR putting, and introductory coaching sessions, all delivered by safeguarding-aware staff operating under the Respect in Golf policy.

Beyond the venue, Virtually Golf’s Screen To Green campaign plays a significant role in widening participation. The programme now partners with schools, offering free taster sessions that provide many young people with their first-ever experience of golf. Community outreach also extends to care homes, foster care providers, SEN groups, disability organisations, and individuals facing homelessness, supported through work with the charity Framework.

Technology and collaboration underpin the experience. The venue is equipped with Foresight simulators, social spaces designed for connection, and a partnership with PING that allows customers to use premium equipment at no additional cost. Clear pathways into traditional golf are supported through strong coaching links and partnerships with local golf clubs, ensuring new players feel confident transitioning from screen to green.

Being shortlisted for Facility of the Year reflects the belief, passion and hard work of the Virtually Golf team, alongside the unwavering support of the Lincoln community. As off-course golf continues to play a vital role in the future of the sport, this recognition reinforces Virtually Golf’s commitment to building a safe, inclusive community where golf truly belongs to everyone.

“Off-course golf has a vital role to play in the future of the game. This recognition reinforces our belief that inclusive, community-led environments can help golf reach new audiences and thrive.” Team VG
