COULD BE YOUR YEAR?
Over 12 rounds, players will battle it out for points, with the top three lowest nett scores each round earning between 6 and 2 points. As before, bonus points will also be awarded for the lowest gross score each round. At the end of the season, the overall winner will secure a great prize. The stage is set, the leaderboard is open, and the first swings of the season will decide who makes the early move.
League 25/26
LEAGUE OR NOT!
Players have a two-week window to complete each round, either solo or alongside others. Prizes are awarded for the lowest nett scores, last year we gave out umbrellas, caps, and player towels. This flexible format means you can dip in and out of the league and still have great prizes to aim for. Prizes are presented in the following round, with winners featured on our website gallery and weekly leaderboard.

TIME IS NO EXCUSE
With a new Tap In Winter Golf League about to tee off, we’re sticking with the winning formula from last season. The extended format, two weeks to complete each round gives players the flexibility to play when it suits them, keeping the competition open to everyone. Whether you’re in it for the title, the weekly prizes, or just a good laugh with mates, the stage is set for another unforgettable season.
Courses 25/26Final Round Blog
A Tough Test?
On paper, the final round looked like one of the toughest setups of the tournament:
6,700-yard tees
Breezy winds
A demanding layout at The Hotchkin, featuring a staggering 144 bunkers
It had all the ingredients to cause chaos… and yet, once again, the scoring told a different story.
Leading the way was Dan Smith, who signed off in style with an incredible gross 61, following up an even more astonishing gross 60 the round before. A truly remarkable way to close out the tournament.
Overall League Standings
Champion: Dan Smith – 46 Points
No surprises here, Dan has dominated from start to finish. Across all 12 rounds, his consistency and scoring have been unmatched, and with a huge 46 points, he is a thoroughly deserved champion.
Runner-Up: David Tapper – 22 Points
A fantastic performance from David Tapper, especially in his first year with Virtually Golf.
After hovering around his handicap early on, David’s improvement in the second half of the tournament has been clear for all to see — dropping an impressive 10 shots overall and finishing strong. A very well-earned second place.
Third Place: Playoff Decider
Third place couldn’t be separated after 12 rounds, with Alfie Newton and Lewis Jobbling both finishing on 14 points — but in very different ways:
Alfie built his total through consistent performances, including a win, a second, and two third-place finishes
Lewis surged late with two wins and a third, rapidly climbing the leaderboard
Because of the tie, we’ll now have a playoff to decide 3rd place.
Playoff Details
Alfie and Lewis will face off in an extra round at Capilano Golf & Country Club.
Deadline: 12th April (2 weeks)
Format: Same as previous rounds
All to play for, we’re looking forward to seeing who takes that final podium spot.t

One Amazing Shot
Nearest The Pin
This year’s Nearest the Pin competition saw some outstanding shots across the board, with plenty of players throwing darts at what proved to be a deceptively tricky par 3.
In reverse order:
Adam Wainwright – 3 ft 4 in
George Austerberry – 2 ft 6 in
Dan Smith – 1 ft 11 in
That winning effort from Dan secures him the title, and a brand new Ping Moonlight Pencil Bag.
A shot worthy of winning any competition!

The prize for the closest shot? A sleek PING Moonlight pencil bag.
