Take on Lincolnshire’s Market Rasen golf courses iin Round 1
The first three matches of the Dēmḗtrios Foursomes are in the books and the knockout drama arrived straight away. VG staff pair Isaac & Mannie looked set for Round Two, sitting 2-up with five to play, but Leigh & Dave produced some great shots coming in, pulling it back to all square before sealing victory on the 18th. Stu & Phil put down a serious marker with a dominant 8 & 7 win, showing great golf against two VG members competing in their first ever tournament. The other game played saw a shock as Steven & Doug knocked out 2025 Match Play Champion Alfie, normally so confident on the sims, him and his partner couldn’t quite get going on the front nine, finding himself 4-down at the turn before the match was closed out with four holes to play.

Why THE NAME?
Dēmḗtrios Doubles
This event is named Dēmḗtrios as a tribute to our Business Development Director, Christina Dmytryk, and her Ukrainian heritage. Dmytryk is a Ukrainian surname derived from the given name Dmytro, a name associated with resilience, community, and cultural pride.
The tournament was announced when Russia invaded Ukraine, and for that tournament entry fees and contributions from our members, were donated to support Ukraine, helping to send vehicles from the UK directly to those in need.
Today, the Dēmḗtrios event represents teams coming together as one, unity, support, partnership, and the shared strength that comes from standing together, both on and off the course.

The Dēmḗtrios event is unique because staff can enter too, giving members the rare chance to take on the very team that runs Virtually Golf. With our new manager Isaac ready to prove himself, Director Stephen eager to avenge his semi-final knockout last year, and a five-strong staff lineup of keen golfers, competition is guaranteed to be fierce.
Members challenge us all year, this is the moment we step up to the tee together. It’s a tournament built on camaraderie, rivalry, and shared passion, where everyone has the chance to test their game against the people behind the venue itself.
